Lexis Online Study Aids

CALI Lessons

Northeastern's subscription to Computer Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) gives you access to a variety of tutorials on legal subjects. Students can use these for practice, and faculty may assign them in class.  For the student and faculty CALI access codes, visit the InfoDesk.

Online Research Guides

We offer online research guides through this platform -- LibGuides -- on a variety of 1L, upper level and general legal research topics. Look to these for research strategies and recommendations on a variety of databases, websites, and books in our collection. For example:

  • Bluebook Citation
  • Legal Database Tutorials
  • Law Library Services for Faculty
  • State & Local Legal Research
  • Massachusetts State Law
  • Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
  • Statistics Research for Lawyers
  • Immigration Law
  • Labor & Employment Law
  • Contract Law
  • Property Law
  • Administrative Law

See the full list of 40+ LibGuides here.

Every year, to support the 1L Social Justice projects, law librarian faculty liaisons review and update existing online guides and create additional sub-topic pages and new subject guides.

The main university library (Snell Library) has many research guides on non-legal subjects here.

Video Modules

Check out our video modules on basic legal research topics, created by your NUSL law librarians.  These are geared toward 1Ls, but are great for anyone looking for a refresher.  These are found on the Videos page of this guide.

Our current offerings are on Secondary Sources, Cases, and Statutes. Stay tuned for additional videos in these categories, and for new topics.
