Browse the Washington Post's reporting on people shot and killed by on-duty police officers and search a database with records of every fatal shooting by an on-duty officer in the United States since January 1, 2015.

Hosted by Bowling Green State University, this database includes summaries of tens of thousands of arrests involving nonfederal law enforcement officers from 2005-2017. Data can be searched by location, crime, or victim. Domestic violence committed by police officers can be found when searching by crime by clicking on "other offense characteristics."

The Thurgood Marshall Institute's National Police Funding Database contains city- and county-level data about police funding for many places in the United States and includes information about military equipment transfers to police, federal grants to law enforcement, complaints about police misconduct, and compensation paid to victims.

The Prison Policy Initiative is a non-profit, non-partisan research effort seeking to expose the harm of mass criminalization and promote advocacy for a more just society. Use their data page to download criminal justice datasets at the national, state, and local level or search the Correctional Contracts Library to see records of agreements between governments and companies with prison contracts.
