Health Statistics
National-Level Statistics:
CDC Wonder: Wonder is the Center for Disease Control's user-friendly statistical research engine. This tool can help you find data and statistics on a wide variety of health-related issues, which can be organized and broken-down by age, demographics, geography, and other factors.
National Center for Health Statistics: A part of the CDC, this organization's website has much of the same information as CDC Wonder, but it is organized by topic (instead of being a search engine).
The CDC and NCHS also produce annual reports with selected, important statistical information called the Vital Statistics of the United States.
The 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012 printed editions are on the Law Library Reference Shelves, call number: HA203.V58.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation: A non-profit organization dedicated to producing health policy analysis and journalism, they also produce many health-related studies and polls. Of particular note, the Kaiser Family Foundation produces information on the cost of healthcare.
InternationalStatistics:
World Health Organization Data: Provides the data and statistics on world health collected by the World Health Organization.
The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that "accredits and certifies more than 17,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States." The site provides access to its newsletter and its other publications.
IHI is an independent non-profit organization working "to accelerate improvement by building the will for change, cultivating promising concepts for improving patient care, and helping health care systems put those ideas into action." The site provides information about IHI's upcoming programs as well as access to its publications.
Families USA is "a national nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans." The website provides information on issues such as medicaid, children's health, medicare, prescription drugs, the uninsured, private insurance, minority health, and global health. Publications are available from 1992 (mostly full text, some available for a fee).
A "non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and expand access to quality, community-responsive health care for America's medically underserved and uninsured." Website provides access to the organizations research and data, including state-by-state information.
